## What does open core mean?
Decombine publishes as much information as we can about our operations, controls, and resources. We go to incredible lengths to be transparent about our intentions and how we work so that we can earn and keep your trust.
## Secrecy is not an advantage
We don't believe secrecy creates a competitive advantage when you're trying to change the world.
We recognize that we're asking you to trust us with a lot in joining Decombine as a Member, and we're committed to keeping that trust by building transparency into our organization as a foundational principle.
## Open source vs. Open core
This is how we think about it:
Open source is typically used in reference to *software*. Open core is used in reference to *organizations*.
